Welcome to Florida State University! Just like registering for your classes, you will need to register for a parking permit. Whether you are a student, faculty or staff, everyone needs a permit to park on campus. If you are in need of a permit, please go to the permit section on this page and register for yours now.
Enforcement
Due to the size of our campus, parking is limited to certain areas for students as well as faculty and staff. Contrary to popular belief, we enforce parking on campus 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Around campus, you'll see signs at the entrance of every parking lot showing who can park there and some of the rules we have. Make sure you take a look at all of these signs. Just looking at them could save you some money on a ticket!
Gated Lots
Some of our lots on campus are gated and allow access only to persons with a gate card or clicker. The times these gates should be down are located at the front of each gate stand. Although we allow students to park in faculty spaces after 4:30PM each day, some of our gates will remain down later than that. This is so we can reserve parking for departments and nearby events that provide services to students after 5:00PM.
Parking Garages
Florida State University has embarked on a massive building program to provide desperately needed parking for students and faculty. Over the past eight years, four new garages have been built, providing almost 4000 spaces available to students and faculty/staff. Three of these garages are commuter lots which close from Midnight till 6:30AM on Sunday through Thursday. Take a look at the commuter lot map under Commuter Parking for specific locations. And remember, all parking garages require Nose In parking. That means no backing in to a space, or you will receive a citation.
